Key Responsibilities

Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.

Request, track, and secure prior authorizations for prescriptions.

Ensure approvals are obtained before prescriptions leave the pharmacy.

Communicate insurance updates and trends to the team.

Document all communications with patients, providers, and insurers accurately.

Respond to patient and staff inquiries regarding prior authorizations.

Troubleshoot and resolve authorization roadblocks, including contacting physicians.

Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of medical billing, basic coding, and office procedures.

Proficient in computer software, office equipment, and multi-line phone systems.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Ability to follow instructions and work effectively with patients, staff, and the public.

Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
Education & Experience

1–2 years of relevant experience required.

Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA) required.
Physical Requirements
