Warwickshire County Council is hiring three Procurement Officer positions—two permanent and one fixed-term (3 years)—with flexible hybrid working arrangements. Reporting to either the Procurement Lead for Communities & Resources or for People, you’ll manage procurement cycles from planning to contract award, collaborate across departments, and support sound purchasing decisions that impact vital services. Key Responsibilities of a Procurement Officer

As a Procurement Officer at Warwickshire County Council, you will:

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from planning to contract award

  • Collaborate with clients to develop procurement documentation and evaluation strategies

  • Publish tenders via our e-tendering platform (In-Tend)

  • Support contract call-offs through central and external frameworks

  • Promote effective procurement practices across various departments

  • Analyze data and prepare reports to support evidence-based decision-making

  • Respond to procurement-related queries across the organization

Skills & Experience Required for the Procurement Officer Role

To succeed as a Procurement Officer, you should demonstrate:

  • A background in contract management, procurement, or category/supply chain management

  • Strong communication and analytical skills

  • Ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders

  • Experience using e-tendering platforms (such as In-Tend)

  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem-solving

  • Knowledge of public sector procurement frameworks and regulations
