Job Summary
As a Produce Department Manager at Mariano’s, you will lead and inspire your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences, maintain a safe and clean work environment, and achieve sales and profit goals. You’ll oversee all daily produce operations—ensuring fresh, high-quality products and top-tier merchandising—while fostering a welcoming, customer-first atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate all functions of the Produce department

Uphold company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety

Set and achieve department sales, profit, and quality goals

Maintain sanitation, safety, and food safety standards

Develop and train associates on department procedures, inventory control, and merchandising

Create customer-friendly displays and seasonal promotions

Greet and assist customers, answer questions, and offer product recommendations

Inspect and ensure freshness and quality of produce

Monitor inventory, reduce shrink, and maintain price integrity

Schedule staff effectively to meet customer volume demands

Work in refrigerated environments and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

18 years of age or older
-
Strong communication and basic math skills
-
Ability to handle stressful situations
-
Current food handler’s permit (or ability to obtain)
