Product Manager – IDEAL Electrical
The Product Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the success of IDEAL Electrical. This individual will lead end-user research, spearhead new product development, and strengthen IDEAL’s position in the marketplace. Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Channel, Marketing, Sales, and Operations, the Product Manager ensures that IDEAL products deliver exceptional value and effectively address customer needs. As a subject matter expert, this role involves managing the product lifecycle, tracking market share trends, and collaborating with Channel and Sales teams to achieve annual business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management
- Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to commercialization and discontinuation.
- Conduct in-depth market and competitor research to inform product strategy and decision-making.
- Serve as an expert on the competitive landscape by analyzing pricing, features, performance, applications, and innovations to differentiate IDEAL in the market.
- Identify target audiences and develop compelling value propositions that align with marketing initiatives.
- Develop and execute marketing plans in collaboration with Marketing Operations and Digital Marketing teams to drive product success.
- Partner with Sales and Channel teams to create promotions that support annual sales goals.
- Work with Channel Marketing to establish and implement effective pricing strategies across all distribution channels.
- Support Product Line Reviews (PLRs), sales enablement efforts, and customer training initiatives.
New Product Development (NPD)
- Ensure timely and profitable product launches by adhering to stage gate development processes.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations to resolve challenges during the development phase with urgency and efficiency.
- Develop and implement research plans to identify end-user pain points and establish clear marketing requirements.
- Work closely with the Channel team to develop go-to-market commercialization strategies that maximize new product opportunities.
- Coordinate with Marketing Operations and Digital Marketing teams to ensure effective launch execution.
Leadership & Strategic Execution
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation, creative thinking, and smart risk-taking.
- Balance short-term priorities with long-term strategic goals to drive sustained business growth.
- Focus on key objectives that generate the highest impact and measurable value.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to inspire collaboration and achieve collective success.
Qualifications & Experience
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 5+ years of product management experience.
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and profitability through strategic marketing and product management.
- Experience in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments with a strong urgency to bring new products to market.
- Background in manufacturing or product-focused industries is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of 80/20 methodologies and product line simplification strategies.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $94,843 – $127,803 (eligible for incentive pay)
- Actual compensation is based on experience, skills, location, and qualifications
