Professional Surgical Coder Responsibilities
As a Professional Surgical Coder, your main focus will be ensuring that all professional billing claims are coded accurately and comply with CCI and payer guidelines. You’ll collaborate with coders, billing staff, and leadership to improve coding quality and minimize claim denials.
Key Responsibilities:

Review and validate provider charges for accuracy and compliance.

Audit surgical coding performed by Professional Services Coders.

Identify and document coding errors and trends for training and improvement.

Develop coding guidelines, presentations, and educational materials.

Provide training and coding education to physician providers.

Research CCI edits, payer policies, and coding websites for the latest updates.

Track, monitor, and report denial trends to leadership.

Recommend coding adjustments based on audits and research findings.

Professional Surgical Coder Qualifications
To qualify for the Professional Surgical Coder position, candidates must possess both strong technical skills and a solid understanding of medical billing compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
