Company Overview:
Our client is a leading player in the extraction and processing of potash, dedicated to innovation and operational efficiency. They are looking for a skilled Project Manager to join their growing team, focused on the development, installation, and execution of critical projects for their potash mining and processing operations, with a specific focus on site activities in Southeastern Utah.
Role Overview:
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of project lifecycles, from initial concept through to completion. This role will require coordination with equipment manufacturers in Mexico and travel to the USA, including 1 week on/off rotations at the company’s Southeastern Utah site to oversee site installation and execution.
The remainder of your time will be spent working from our Vancouver head office, where you will lead project planning, liaise with stakeholders, and manage ongoing project tasks to ensure alignment with company goals and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage potash processing projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to select, size, and procure equipment manufactured in Mexico.
- Oversee project scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management for the Utah site installation.
- Travel to Mexico and the USA, including the Southeastern Utah site, to oversee equipment manufacturing, site installations, and project execution.
- Liaise with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience managing projects in the mining, fertilizer manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, or other heavy industrial sectors.
- PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage large, complex projects, working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to Mexico, the USA, and specifically to Southeastern Utah on a 1 week on/off rotation as necessary.
