Required Skills & Experience
– 6-8+ years of project management experience
– Experience within risk at a bank, preferably in Credit Risk and Capital products
– Hands-on experience with Jira
– Experience leading scrum sessions
– Expert with stakeholder management
– Previous experience directing, managing, and coordinating team members including other project managers, business and technology resources, user groups, internal and external consultants, and contractors
– Ability to navigate challenging situations effectively
– Ability to apply project management methodologies or approaches
– Data-driven decision making
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
– Valid PMP designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
– Experience in both Agile and Waterfall environments
Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an outgoing and energetic Project Manager to join a top bank in downtown Toronto for a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension or conversion. This role will require the Project Manager to be in-office 2 days per week and lead daily scrum sessions. The PM will lead Credit Risk and Capital product work sprints from initiation to implementation to achieve desired business results. They will be responsible for ensuring successful business outcomes, including delivering projects on time, within budget, within quality standards, and to the satisfaction of the product owner. The incumbent must be familiar with JIRA. The PM will be the prime subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders, including organizing and leading project team meetings. They will direct, manage, and coordinate team members including other project managers, business and technology resources, user groups, internal and external consultants, and contractors. Strong communication and collaboration skills are vital to interacting with other program/project managers and stakeholders efficiently and effectively.
Daily tasks include:
– Guiding the product owner on the implementation and sustainment of initiatives to ensure successful project outcomes.
– Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including business, operational, and technology deliverables. Ensure all project processes are completed.
– Ensure change management plans are developed, socialized, and consistently measured to deliver the expected project benefits and adoption.
– Develop all related project management artifacts while complying with applicable enterprise standards.
– Monitor and control project deliverables. Make recommendations and adjustments to the overall project plan to achieve deliverables where necessary.
– Understand project interdependencies and demonstrate critical thinking that proactively identifies project risks and establishes effective risk mitigation from the outset.
– Demonstrate stakeholder partnership that involves effective communicating with the project sponsor; gain and build trust and rapport.
– Demonstrate ownership and commitment by holding themselves accountable for the identification and resolution of project problems.
Lead and/or represent the project in project team meetings, governance forums, and inter-department forums.
Adhere to Bank risk, regulatory, and compliance controls.
– Advisory – act as a trusted advisor to the assigned business/group, influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives, assist in the development of strategic plans, identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making, and provide strategic input into the business decision as a trusted advisor.
– Strategy – help determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy and conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues
– Data and Analytics – manage/validate financial forecasts and conduct ongoing reconciliations, break own strategy problems and analysize data to provide insights/recommendations, monitor and track performance and address any issues, and design and procedure regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards
– Socialize change management plans with stakeholders and consistently measure project effectiveness and adoption
