Position Overview

The Project Manager will support federal contracts by managing agreements, monitoring compliance, coordinating licensing, and assisting with technology transfer and intellectual property processes. This hybrid role requires collaboration with internal teams, federal clients, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time and in alignment with federal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements between clients and private sector or research institutions.

  • Track and monitor agreements, ensuring parties meet contract milestones and compliance requirements.

  • Input and maintain accurate data in databases; generate reports on royalties, agreements, and progress.

  • Perform invoicing, track royalty payments, and reconcile financial and patent records.

  • Support staff with policies, procedures, and the Federal Technology Transfer Act of 1986 compliance.

  • Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders during pre- and post-negotiation processes.

  • Coordinate trademark licensing, client logo usage, and intellectual property documentation.

  • Maintain records for patents, federal notices, and legal correspondence.

  • Collaborate with Office of General Counsel and other staff to provide legal guidance.

  • Attend trade shows and conferences to market client technologies.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of project management experience, with strong understanding of patents and technology transfers.

  • Familiarity with the Federal Technology Transfer Act of 1986.

  • Proven communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to anticipate challenges and proactively manage projects.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.

  • Eligibility to obtain a government clearance.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Business, IT, Communications, or related field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
