Job Summary
FHI 360 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead major cross-functional strategy initiatives across the organization. The role is ideal for candidates passionate about project management, organizational impact, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. The position will support senior leadership, ensuring that projects are aligned with strategic goals, completed on time, and contribute to the future of work vision. Candidates based in the Washington, DC area are preferred.
Key Accountabilities

Lead and manage multiple projects from initiation to completion, ensuring quality and accountability.

Build and grow partnerships essential to project success.

Develop project scope, goals, deliverables, and best practices for execution.

Oversee documentation, training, presentations, and budget proposals.

Resolve project issues, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.

Provide guidance to project staff and foster teamwork across matrix environments.

Partner with senior leadership to align initiatives with strategic objectives.
Applied Knowledge & Skills

Strong background in project management, change management, and process development.

Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, Smartsheet).

Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and handle complex situations.
Problem Solving & Impact

High-level decision-making impacting project timelines and organizational goals.

Requires strong analytical skills to evaluate data, resolve problems, and drive results.
Supervision Given/Received

May directly manage project staff or external members.

Coordinates with management on plans, budgets, and training to achieve organizational goals.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.

Master’s degree preferred.

Project Management (PM) Certification required.

Change Management Certification (Prosci or CCMP) preferred.
Experience
-
10+ years of project management experience, including 3+ years of line management.

Experience with cross-functional/matrix environments and executive-level initiatives.

Background in NGOs or similar organizations preferred.

Experience in monitoring, evaluation, capacity building, and team leadership.
Technology & Physical Demands

Daily use of Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Teams/Zoom, and standard office tools.

Typical office environment with extended computer use.

Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs.

Competitive base salary ($110k–130k, US-based range).
