We’re looking for a trailblazing Project Manager to manage projects primarily within our museums side of our business. Job Title: Project Manager

 

Job Overview: As a Project Manager at Holman you will play a crucial role in the smooth and efficient execution of our jobs in the museum, tradeshow and retail verticals of our business. You will be responsible for managing milestones to efficiently complete the job(s); from the Kick-Off meeting with the Sales Team to the final delivery of our product(s) or service(s) to our Client(s).

 

Job Requirements:

7 years Museum-related experience.
5 years Project Management experience.
Strong materials knowledge.
Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings (AutoCAD and Solidworks).
In-person role with occasional hybrid as an option.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management:

Work with our Sales Team and clients to develop the project scope and determine job requirements. Understand what we are planning to build to ensure what we sold is what we are delivering to the Client.
Provide support to the Sales Team during proposal submission process.
Establish critical paths and key milestones for the jobs.
Enter and maintain the job information in our project management system, updating the system with changes communicated from the Sales or Production Teams.
Read and understand technical drawings (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.) to provide direction to the Production Team.
Determine and complete approved travel, including out-of-country trips, to job sites when needed to ensure job success.
Monitor job costs to ensure job remains on-budget. Communicate risks of over-spend to the Head of Project Management to determine best steps to mitigate overage or bring the job costs back on-track.
Work with Production Manager to ensure final drawings with adjustments made on the Shop floor are documented and saved in the jobs folder. Final versions updated by hand are scanned into Engineering>Production>Drawings>Final Mark-up Drawings folder on the jobs drive.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancements.
Continually collaborate with the Client and Sales Team to understand the Client’s vision for the project to facilitate a successful execution.
Complete other assignments deemed necessary for the company to be successful.Procurement:Work with the Engineering Team to determine materials to order for the job.
Work with the Production Manager to determine what materials are in-stock and what materials are remaining to be ordered for the job(s).
Submit purchase request(s) to purchasing inbox to order materials and hardware.
Manage vendor relationships for all outsourced portions of the job. This includes negotiating costs and sourcing materials/services.
Coordinate shipping and install as required with internal and external resources.

3. Meetings:

Lead and actively participate in Client meetings to understand the details and be the technical subject matter expert to support the sale of the opportunity.
Schedule meetings with all internal stakeholders as required to ensure project success and email a meeting summary and action items list within 24 hours.

4. Communication:

Main point of contact for our clients on their jobs; future, existing and historical.
Proactively communicate updates to all stakeholders, pushing information to team members. Examples include: job status updates, priority action items, reports, change order communications to the Sales Team, email summaries of meetings and verbal discussions.
Review and summarize completed job(s) to communicate learnings for future job(s) to cross-functional teams. Actively record learnings during the execution of a job(s).
Maintain open and effective communication with cross-functional teams, including Design, Detailing, Estimating, Production and Sales Teams as well as 3rd party vendors to ensure job milestones are achieved.
Effectively communicate revisions and changes to the job(s) to all internal/external stakeholders.
Escalate risks to job budget and milestones achievement as well as suggested resolutions and mitigations to the Head of Project Management.
Identify, communicate and escalate risks (timeline, budget, etc.) to the job(s) with options for possible resolution to the Head of Project Management.

5. Health & Safety:

Complete the appropriate Health and Safety Training as required throughout your tenure at Holman.
Act as a role model in the demonstration of positive health and safety behaviours at work.
Support and help to ensure the health and safety of clients, contractors, and/or visitors that you may bring into the workplace.
