Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, coordination, and administration of complex, high-visibility construction and modernization projects under the guidance of a senior Project Officer.

  • Uphold high standards of quality and compliance in all phases of design and construction by vendors and consultants.

  • Make timely, informed decisions that support project progression and ensure early correction of design or construction errors.

  • Develop and manage phasing and scheduling plans to ensure timely project completion within approved budgets.

  • Monitor construction schedules and initiate corrective actions when necessary to maintain deadlines and cost control.

  • Serve as a liaison among contractors, construction managers, school personnel, and senior staff to address and resolve project concerns.

  • Help establish and implement policies and procedures for project management.

  • Provide guidance and support to construction staff on project execution.

  • Resolve issues identified in field reports from architects or construction managers.

  • Collaborate with architects and engineers on change orders, submittal approvals, and technical clarifications to ensure code compliance and design integrity.

  • Issue directives and field memos to contractors to enforce contractual obligations.

  • Advise senior leadership on contract enforcement strategies, including the potential application of liquidated damages.

  • Exercise sound judgment to negotiate change orders and resolve contractor claims or disputes.

  • Prepare documentation necessary for evaluating or responding to contractor claims.

  • Conduct site visits as needed to oversee and support project execution.

  • Perform additional duties as required to support successful project outcomes.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in construction or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction or design-related disciplines.

  • At least 2 years of experience managing construction projects valued at $5 million or more.

  • Valid driver’s license required.
