Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Proposal Writer to support our internal proposal development efforts. This role requires expertise in federal contracting and technical writing, particularly in IT, cybersecurity, or AI. You will collaborate with business development teams and subject matter experts to create compliant, compelling proposals for various government agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret federal and state solicitation documents (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, SOWs)

  • Develop outlines, compliance matrices, and content plans for proposal responses

  • Write and edit sections including technical, management, staffing, and past performance

  • Collaborate with SMEs to convert technical input into persuasive, clear language

  • Ensure proposals meet all compliance, formatting, and deadline requirements

  • Participate in red team reviews and final proposal production

  • Maintain and update the company’s proposal content library

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience writing proposals for federal or state government contracts

  • Strong knowledge of FAR/DFARS and proposal development best practices

  • Excellent writing, editing, and research skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision under tight deadlines

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting small businesses (e.g., SDVOSB, HUBZone, EDWOSB, 8(a))

  • Familiarity with Seaport NxG, GSA MAS, or state-level QVLs

  • Understanding of procurement evaluation criteria (Sections L & M)

  • Experience with SharePoint, GovWin, or proposal automation tools like GovEagle
