Duties and Responsibilities

Adhere to all company policies and established procedures.

Maintain cleanliness of the Service Desk/Kiosk.

Present a neat, well-groomed appearance at all times in compliance with company personal appearance standards.

Assist with special projects and perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Work within the company’s Management Planning (MPP) guidelines to maintain productivity.

Support and comply with all safety standards, reporting any necessary equipment repairs or maintenance and keeping the workspace free from hazards.

Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect.

Perform accurate price checks when needed.

Control the use of store supplies, including ribbons, receipt tape, bags, and cleaning materials.

Document any price discrepancies or “not on file” items encountered at the electronic point-of-sale (POS) terminal and promptly request price checks in accordance with company policy.

Verify customer identification and adhere to store policies regarding check acceptance and the sale of tobacco and alcohol products.

Follow company policies related to excessive cash in registers and request cash pickups as needed.

Stay alert and observe customer behavior, reporting any suspicious activity to management or security.

Process various transactions, including cash, checks, authorized Accounts Receivable sales, electronic payments, WIC, coupons, gift cards, bottle credits, refunds, lottery, Western Union, and more, in full compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Secure the register when unattended and protect company assets at all times.

Use and maintain store equipment in good working order, reporting any issues immediately.

Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards per store policy and state/local health regulations.

Have a thorough knowledge of the different types of produce sold, including the ability to differentiate between similar varieties (e.g., different types of apples or lettuce).

Frequently perform cashier and service associate responsibilities.

Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Must meet the minimum age requirement for specific job functions.

Willingness and ability to learn multiple tasks and technical aspects of the role.

Ability to perform all technical job requirements.
Prerequisite Training

Completion of the Cashier/Service Associate Training Packet.
Physical Requirements

Stand for 100% of the work shift with occasional short-distance walking.

Use hands frequently to handle currency (paper and coin) and operate various equipment, including a cash register, lottery machine, scanner, computer, and calculator.

Bend and lift up to 15 lbs continuously, 25 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally.

Occasionally push or pull up to 75 lbs.

Frequently reach and grasp at waist level, with occasional reaching above shoulder or below waist level.

Maintain sufficient visual acuity to verify ID cards, checks, invoices, and other written documents.
