About the Job
Under the general supervision of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiology procedures on both ambulatory and hospitalized patients as requested by a licensed provider. These procedures are conducted in accordance with established clinical protocols to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury.
Primary Responsibilities:

Conducts high-quality radiologic exams in a timely manner, adhering to standardized imaging protocols to ensure diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of radiation dose reference levels and monitoring practices, including appropriate follow-up actions if established limits are exceeded.

Utilizes AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) communication technique to enhance the patient experience, ensure accurate patient identification, and clearly explain procedures.

Prepares patients and exam areas by correctly positioning the patient, using appropriate immobilization devices, and setting technical parameters for optimal image quality.

Adheres to all safety, infection control, and radiation protection guidelines, maintaining strict sterile technique during invasive procedures and practicing proper hand hygiene.

Maintains imaging equipment and workspaces to meet operational, quality, and cleanliness standards. Reports equipment issues and assists with inventory management.

Screens patients and individuals entering the imaging department according to approved safety protocols.

Accurately obtains and verifies all documentation, including medical history, pregnancy status, consent forms, and shielding protocols.

Ensures timely and accurate documentation and storage of imaging records within appropriate systems for interpretation and review.

Availability for on-call shifts as needed.
