Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist performs basic to advanced imaging procedures under the supervision of physicians, ensuring safe, accurate, and high-quality radiographs. This role involves direct patient interaction, supporting physicians in diagnostic imaging, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities

Perform general diagnostic, fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures (if applicable at site).

Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain history, answer questions, and ensure comfort.

Position patients correctly and select exposure factors to obtain accurate images while ensuring radiation safety.

Verify patient identity, compare requisitions with physician orders, and ensure exam accuracy.

Process and review images for quality; recall patients if necessary.

Collaborate and consult with physicians; provide independent support in departments and at off-site locations.

Maintain accurate patient records, enter information into the Radiology Information System (RIS), and document billing codes.

Serve as a technical resource, mentor, or preceptor for students and staff; assist with accreditation efforts.

Transport and position patients as needed, using safe lifting and moving techniques.
Required Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications:
-
Radiographer License (Wisconsin).

Registered Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA) – required within 6 months of hire unless exempt.

Education: Completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.

Experience: No prior experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficiency in radiology positioning and techniques.

Knowledge of anatomy, radiation safety, and radiology equipment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients, physicians, and staff.

Ability to work independently and serve as a role model for peers.

Intermediate computer skills.
