Position Summary
Join our team at Henry Ford Hospital – Detroit Main Campus as a Radiologic Technologist in our Emergency Room Radiology Department. Under the guidance of a Radiologist, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures to evaluate a variety of medical conditions, exercising independent judgment and technical skills to ensure safe and effective imaging.
Key Responsibilities

Explain procedures and prepare patients for radiologic exams.

Review clinical requisitions and perform appropriate imaging procedures.

Set up exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure cleanliness and readiness.

Accurately position patients and operate radiologic equipment to capture diagnostic images.

Administer and monitor contrast media when applicable.

Apply principles of radiation safety and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) techniques.

Manage documentation in PACS and RIS systems; ensure image quality and proper study indexing.

Collaborate with radiologists and confirm clinical protocols when needed.

Assist in training new staff or students, while maintaining your regular responsibilities.

Uphold patient safety, privacy, comfort, and dignity throughout all procedures.

Consistently demonstrate team standards of excellence including AIDET and open communication.
Required Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or GED required.
-
Ongoing compliance with continuing education requirements.
Licensure & Certification
-
ARRT registration in Radiography or eligible (must obtain registration within 6 months of hire if not currently registered).
-
Current BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
