Connecticut Children’s is seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our pediatric radiology team. Under the supervision of the Diagnostic Radiology Lead Technologist, Assistant Manager of Radiology, and Manager, this role is responsible for operating general, fluoroscopic, and portable radiographic equipment to perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures for pediatric inpatients and outpatients. This position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality imaging while maintaining safety and compassion for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:

Assess imaging orders for completeness and appropriateness, involving the patient, parents, and caregivers in the process.

Demonstrate age-specific competency and cultural sensitivity in all patient interactions.

Clearly introduce self and explain procedures, encouraging questions to ensure patient understanding and comfort.

Perform radiologic examinations per established protocols, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and diagnostic quality.

Communicate and collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other technologists to support patient care.

Adhere to hospital safety standards, including hand hygiene and proper sanitization of equipment.

Ensure all imaging includes appropriate patient demographics, correct positioning, accurate technique, and marker placement, while minimizing radiation exposure per ALARA principles.

Support and assist in other modalities and locations within the department as needed, including ED, OR, and off-site facilities.

Mentor and train new technologists and students, evaluating technical performance and clinical skills.

Utilize and maintain imaging information systems accurately and efficiently.

Coordinate equipment servicing and participate in on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Comply with all departmental and hospital protocols and practice within the scope of state and ARRT licensure.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program (ARRT-accredited)
Licensure & Certifications:

Current State of Connecticut Radiographer License (New graduates have 90 days to obtain license per CT Statutes 20-74bb(f))

ARRT (R) certification (New graduates allowed 90 days post-graduation with proof of completion)

Current BLS certification
