About the Job
Position Summary
Under the supervision of an Imaging Technologist, this role supports the imaging department by performing various tasks that contribute to a safe, clean, and organized environment. The Imaging Assistant plays a key role in ensuring efficient workflow, helping with patient care, and delivering compassionate, family-centered service in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities

Answers phones, relays messages, and responds to inquiries when appropriate.

Assists technologists and radiologists during procedures as needed.

Inputs information into the PACS system when required.

Adheres to hospital identification protocols before performing exams.

Maintains cleanliness and organization within the imaging environment.

Supports imaging procedures as necessary.

Prepares exam rooms and patients (and their families) for imaging procedures.

Stocks rooms with necessary supplies at the start of each shift.

Disinfects rooms, furniture, and equipment; handles linen and waste appropriately.

Anticipates and meets patient comfort needs, such as providing warm blankets, pillows, or positioning aids.

Provides a welcoming experience for patients, families, and visitors by offering helpful information and timely service.
Minimum Requirements

Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association – must be obtained within 30 days of hire and kept active throughout employment.

Basic computer proficiency, with willingness to learn new software.
