Job Description

Join our team as a Receipt & Distribution Assistant, playing a key role in hospital logistics. This vital position involves the safe movement of stock, equipment, and supplies across the hospital. As a Receipt & Distribution Assistant, you’ll work both independently and within a team to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, supporting excellent patient care. You’ll follow strict health & safety and manual handling procedures while assisting in stock receipt and distribution using NHS procurement systems.

Main Duties – Receipt & Distribution Assistant Responsibilities

As a Receipt & Distribution Assistant, you will:

  • Receive, check, and record incoming stock using NHS procurement systems.

  • Identify and log delivery discrepancies accurately using Trust IT systems.

  • Prioritise critical items to ensure urgent deliveries are processed first.

  • Liaise with hospital wards and departments to coordinate safe stock distribution.

  • Use correct manual handling techniques for transporting equipment and supplies.

  • Maintain departmental standards including punctuality, cleanliness, and professional appearance.

You should be confident communicating with staff, remaining calm under pressure, and committed to following Trust values and protocols.

Essential:

  • Strong communication skills
