Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to site leadership on union-related HR matters, including labor relations, grievance handling, and union collaboration.

  • Provide expert guidance on navigating complex labor disputes and negotiations while maintaining legal and policy compliance.

  • Foster strong, proactive relationships with union representatives, employees, and site leaders to encourage open communication and mutual respect.

  • Manage HR operations such as hiring, transfers, separations, and workplace investigations in accordance with labor laws and internal policies.

  • Coach managers on effective performance management, dispute resolution, and best practices within unionized environments.

  • Lead employee engagement initiatives aimed at enhancing site culture, retention, and workforce development.

  • Influence strategic decisions by aligning site-specific needs with broader corporate HR policies and compliance requirements.

  • Champion cultural transformation efforts to build trust, stability, and long-term organizational strength.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience with a focus on union environments, including labor relations, grievance management, and union negotiations.

  • Proven expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, and conducting workplace investigations.

  • Strategic thinker capable of balancing corporate policies with site-level execution and labor agreement compliance.

  • Experience in multi-site HR support, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or chemical sectors.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred).

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Willingness to travel up to 30% (primarily regional, with occasional international trips possible).

Compensation & Benefits Summary

Evonik offers competitive compensation that reflects individual qualifications, geographic considerations, and market trends.

  • Estimated Salary Range: $91,900 – $153,100 per year (final offer based on skills, experience, location, and internal equity)
