Regional Human Resources Manager

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with site and HR leadership to plan, organize, and oversee all activities.
  • Assist in implementing employee policies and procedures in collaboration with site and HR leadership.
  • Participate in onsite Cultivation and Operations Leadership staff meetings, as well as HR-mandated meetings as scheduled.
  • Guide onsite teams in performance management, ensuring execution and compliance.
  • Partner with site and HR leadership to establish the strategic direction and objectives for the Cultivation and Operations teams, aligning talent management initiatives with these goals in coordination with the Learning and Development team.
  • Enhance performance, engagement, and professional development of HR teams supporting Cultivation and Operations sites.
  • Work collaboratively with HR peers to assess and improve talent management programs and processes, partnering with relevant HR functions such as Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and Learning & Development.
  • Ensure appropriate compensation and benefits strategies are in place to attract and retain top talent.
  • Address employee relations concerns by identifying trends, monitoring workplace issues, conducting investigations, and providing coaching and guidance.
  • Act as the primary liaison between management and union representatives, fostering positive communication and collaboration on labor relations matters, including grievance resolution and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.

New Hire Orientation

  • Develop and implement a structured new hire orientation program tailored to the cultivation facility’s operational and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct engaging onboarding sessions covering company policies, safety protocols, and job-specific training for cultivation staff.
  • Coordinate with department managers to facilitate a seamless transition for new employees into their roles.
  • Oversee the completion of all necessary new hire documentation, including I-9 verification, tax forms, and benefits enrollment.
  • Provide an overview of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and security measures specific to the cultivation environment.
  • Introduce new hires to the company’s culture, values, and career development opportunities.
  • Monitor new employees’ progress and provide ongoing support to ensure successful integration into the workplace.
  • Maintain accurate records of orientation sessions and track employee compliance with required training modules.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Train and oversee direct reports.
  • Provide written and verbal instructions, ensuring adherence to regulations and company policies.
  • Manage scheduling, task assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff, including motivation, hiring, termination, and performance management.
  • Assist with timely and constructive performance evaluations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of HR leadership experience, preferably in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred; an associate degree may be considered with equivalent experience. HR professional certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) are highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships at all levels, including with senior executives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach, capable of influencing and collaborating across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in labor relations required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills; experience with HR systems preferred.
  • Experience in coaching and developing both staff and leadership teams.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to develop solutions for complex challenges.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally required to lift, push, pull, or move up to 25 pounds.
  • May need to sit for extended periods but will frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Regularly required to use hands for handling, grasping, and touching.
  • Must have the ability to speak and listen regularly.
