Job Overview
Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate opening for a Registered Dietitian to provide nutritional services in a correctional facility located in Soledad, California. The Registered Dietitian will work under the direction of the Institution or its designee and provide care in accordance with state and facility policies.
Job Duties
-
Provide nutritional assessment and counseling for patients/youth within 72 hours of physician order.

Plan dietary interventions, monitor nutritional goals, and document progress.

Interpret physician-prescribed diets and develop therapeutic diet plans.

Establish menus and recipes, authorize substitutions or modifications, and ensure adherence to food safety and infection control standards.

Provide individual and/or group nutrition education sessions.
-
Train food service staff on preparation and distribution of medical diets.
-
Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and committees on nutrition, food service, bioethics, and quality assurance.

Prepare monthly written dietary service status reports, including assessments and follow-up recommendations.
-
Maintain collaborative working relationships with Food Services, healthcare staff, and custodial staff.
-
Comply with universal safety precautions and facility regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
-
At least 12 months of relevant experience within the last three (3) years in a public or private institution (internship experience does not count).

Current and valid registration issued by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in the State of California.
