Multiple Openings – Day Shift – Weekends Off

Job Overview

We are looking for multiple compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidates will be dedicated to providing high-quality patient care and will have experience in various nursing practices. RNs will provide both direct and indirect nursing care, contributing to patient assessments, establishing priorities, determining nursing measures and therapeutic goals, and evaluating outcomes. This role requires independent judgment, flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent nursing care.

Work Schedule: The Registered Nurses will be available to work during VA business hours, 0730 – 1730, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Work Locations:

  • Office of Community Care (OCC) Nurses: 4100 E. Mississippi Ave, Glendale, CO 80246

  • Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (RTC Nurses): 1700 N. Wheeling Street, Aurora, CO 80045

OCC Registered Nurse Duties:

  • Review consults/requests for clinical appropriateness and utilization.

  • Process care requests in the community per utilization guidelines.

  • Review incoming medical records and document communication with ordering providers and primary care physicians.

  • Coordinate care by communicating with veterans, community providers, internal providers, and administrative staff to ensure care is authorized and processed.

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a range of health conditions.

  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

RTC Registered Nurse Duties:

  • Triage specialty consults for clinical appropriateness and completeness, in line with National RCI Standards for coordinated care.

  • Communicate with veterans about their healthcare options and help them decide on care at VA facilities or with community providers.

  • Provide clinical knowledge and serve as a resource to the multidisciplinary staff.

  • Collaborate with CACs to modify consult templates and serve as a liaison for internal and external staff during the consult process.

  • Build trusting relationships with specialty providers in clinics and coordinate specialty care through RCI implementation.

Requirements:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

  • At least two (2) years of direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.

  • Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program.

  • Active, unrestricted license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.

  • Copy of BLS (American Heart Association preferred).

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA standards.
