Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting in Iola, Kansas. This travel contract position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals recovering from illness, injury, or managing chronic conditions in a skilled nursing facility. As a core member of the interdisciplinary care team, the RN will play a pivotal role in supporting patient recovery, promoting functional independence, and delivering clinical excellence throughout each shift.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to patients in a long-term care and rehabilitation environment.

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.

  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.

  • Monitor and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and overall progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.

  • Provide education to patients and their families about disease processes, post-acute recovery, medication management, and self-care techniques.

  • Ensure patient safety, dignity, and comfort at all times, adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with facility and state requirements.

  • Supervise and support nursing assistants and other support staff to ensure the highest standard of care delivery.


Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas or a multi-state compact license in good standing.

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an RN in a long-term care (LTC), skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting.

  • Current BLS/CPR certification.

  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and strong documentation skills.

  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-based care model and adapt to a dynamic care environment.


Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience with travel nursing assignments in SNFs, LTC, or rehab facilities.

  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing care.
