Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a long-term care and rehabilitation setting in Iola, Kansas. This travel contract position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals recovering from illness, injury, or managing chronic conditions in a skilled nursing facility. As a core member of the interdisciplinary care team, the RN will play a pivotal role in supporting patient recovery, promoting functional independence, and delivering clinical excellence throughout each shift.
Primary Responsibilities

Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to patients in a long-term care and rehabilitation environment.

Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.

Monitor and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and overall progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.

Provide education to patients and their families about disease processes, post-acute recovery, medication management, and self-care techniques.

Ensure patient safety, dignity, and comfort at all times, adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with facility and state requirements.

Supervise and support nursing assistants and other support staff to ensure the highest standard of care delivery.
Required Qualifications
-
Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Kansas or a multi-state compact license in good standing.

Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an RN in a long-term care (LTC), skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting.

Current BLS/CPR certification.

Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and strong documentation skills.

Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-based care model and adapt to a dynamic care environment.
Preferred Experience
-
Prior experience with travel nursing assignments in SNFs, LTC, or rehab facilities.

Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing care.
