Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient care to individuals at the Wound Care Center, managing patient intake and discharge processes in accordance with hospital and nursing standards.

  • Provide assistance in the vein clinic following completion of Healogics Vein Clinic training.

  • Potentially serve as a Case Manager for assigned patients, which includes:

    • Conducting initial nursing assessments and communicating findings with the designated physician.

    • Evaluating wound stage and measurements, documenting care plans, monitoring patient progress toward desired outcomes, and identifying situations needing intervention.

  • Participate in quality improvement activities, educate patients and caregivers, and advocate for patients in coordinating and delivering care.

  • Perform duties related to hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) after completing Healogics hyperbaric training.

  • May assume hyperbaric safety director responsibilities upon completing required Healogics safety director training.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, Wound Care Center staff, Program Director, and Medical Director to address clinic and patient care needs.

  • May act as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) following Healogics policy.

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.


Required Education, Experience, and Credentials

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

  • Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, maintained throughout employment

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • Certifications in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Home Health, or Wound Care preferred

  • Experience in wound care preferred


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven competency in Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills

  • Basic understanding of regulatory and accrediting standards for healthcare organizations

  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex medical information for patients

  • Strong customer service and follow-up skills

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Teaching and patient education skills

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Familiarity with computerized nursing documentation systems


Physical Demands

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (4+ hours)

  • Perform repetitive motions

  • Frequent movement including bending, stooping, reaching, grasping, and pushing/pulling

  • Clear verbal communication and auditory perception

  • Visual acuity including close, distance, peripheral vision, and color recognition

  • Travel as required by car, plane, or other means

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds manually and up to 75 pounds with equipment assistance

  • Extended computer use requiring frequent typing and screen viewing (4+ hours)
