White Plains Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care in an ambulatory and oncology setting. This role focuses on patient assessment, planning, care coordination, and education while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Position Summary:
The RN provides and coordinates care for patients, families, and significant others in the ambulatory care setting. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, implementing interventions, evaluating responses to care, and providing education on health maintenance. The RN collaborates with healthcare team members to plan and deliver individualized patient care.
Key Responsibilities:

Adhere to White Plains Hospital performance standards, policies, and procedures

Assess patient physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health, and determine care needs

Triage sick and walk-in patients
-
Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families
-
Coordinate referrals and patient care, including VNS, social work, ER, and inpatient admissions
-
Administer medications (oral, IM, IV, SQ, inhaled) and assist with procedures
-
Communicate test results and follow-up with providers
-
Act as a patient advocate and provide health education
-
Document care in compliance with standards and regulatory guidelines
-
Promote patient safety in accordance with state and federal regulations
-
Participate in department performance improvement activities and team meetings
-
Attend in-service training and continuing education programs
-
Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and collaborate on care plan adjustments
Education & Experience:
-
BSN required
-
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current New York RN license
-
BLS certification (American Heart Association)
-
ACLS certification required for Cancer Center or Center for Advanced Medicine & Surgery (CAMS)

Knowledge of current nursing, medical, and healthcare practices
