Since 1987, Mesilla Valley Hospital has been a trusted provider of psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. With 120 inpatient beds, we proudly serve residents of New Mexico, West Texas, and Arizona. We specialize in behavioral health and addiction treatment, partnering with hospitals, community mental health centers, educational institutions, and local health professionals to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

We offer specialized programs including:

  • Child & Adolescent Acute Treatment Program (ages 7–17) for crisis stabilization and short-term treatment.

  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) (ages 13–17) for outpatient behavioral health care.

Our focus is on helping youth and families navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, schizophrenia, self-harm, and substance use disorders.

Registered Nurse (RN) Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care to adolescents in acute psychiatric and behavioral health settings.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.

  • Administer medications and monitor treatment effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams.

  • Educate patients and families on treatment, coping strategies, and recovery.

  • Support crisis stabilization, safety planning, and de-escalation as needed.


Qualifications

✔ Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in New Mexico (or eligible to obtain/renew).
✔ Current BLS/CPR certification.
✔ Prior behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience preferred, but not required.
✔ Compassion, patience, and commitment to providing excellent patient care.
