Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients of all ages. This role involves coordinating and performing nursing procedures, supervising support staff, and making independent clinical decisions. The RN is accountable for maintaining high standards of care, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care and supervise CNAs/Techs.

Conduct assessments, develop individualized care plans, and document progress.

Administer medications and monitor patient reactions.

Respond promptly to emergencies, exercising sound clinical judgment.

Ensure infection control and safety protocols are strictly followed.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care.

Educate patients, families, and staff on health maintenance and prevention.
-
Maintain accurate records, reports, and physician orders in the EMR.

Participate in training, orientation, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
-
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN, or Diploma).

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state (Alaska license required before start date).

Certifications:
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
-
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required within 6 months of hire
-
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required within 6 months of hire
-
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – preferred, required for ED nurses
-
SEARHC Clinical & High Risk Competencies (within 3 months of hire)

High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Experience
-
Acute care, emergency department, or long-term care experience.
Skills & Abilities
-
Strong knowledge of nursing practices, hospital regulations, and long-term care guidelines.

Ability to make independent decisions and handle emergencies calmly.

Skilled in supervising and mentoring nursing staff.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Physically able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and manage long periods of standing/walking.
