Essential Responsibilities & Duties

Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities:
-
Provide compassionate and high-quality care to Wound Care Center patients, ensuring adherence to hospital and nursing standards during patient intake and discharge.

Assist in the vein clinic following completion of the Healogics Vein Clinic training.

Case Management (As Assigned):
-
Conduct initial nursing assessments, collaborate with physicians, and evaluate wound stages and measurements to develop appropriate care plans.

Monitor patient progress, document care plans, and ensure timely interventions when necessary.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, educate patients and caregivers, and serve as a patient advocate to ensure seamless coordination of care.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) Responsibilities (As Assigned):
-
Perform HBO-related duties upon successful completion of Healogics hyperbaric training.

May assume Hyperbaric Safety Director responsibilities after completing specialized training.

Collaboration & Documentation:
-
Work closely with healthcare providers, Wound Care Center physicians, the Program Director, and the Medical Director to address clinic and patient needs.

May function as a Documentation Assistant (Scribe) in compliance with Healogics policies.

Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience
-
Education & Licensing:
-
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
-
Active and current RN license in the state of practice (must be maintained throughout employment).
-
Certification in Medical-Surgical, Home Health, or Wound Care is preferred.
-
Prior wound care experience is a plus.

Key Skills & Competencies

Clinical & Technical Skills:

Proficient in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Strong knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards for healthcare organizations.

Working knowledge of electronic nursing systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to simplify complex medical terms for patients and caregivers.
