About the Opportunity
The Nurse Resident, working under the guidance of the program coordinator and unit manager/director, and in collaboration with educators and preceptors, will be responsible for delivering nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with current professional standards.
What You Will Do

Demonstrate accountability and dedication to professional nursing practice by actively participating in the nurse residency program.

Consistently meet the performance standards required by the residency curriculum to successfully complete the program.

Collaborate with the Transition to Practice Coordinator, department leadership, educators, preceptors, colleagues, and fellow nurse residents to promote effective learning and professional development, ensuring a smooth transition into independent nursing practice.

Apply nursing knowledge and the nursing process to provide patient- and family-centered care.

Work cooperatively with healthcare team members, patients, and families in the delivery of care.

Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise other healthcare team members during care plan implementation.

Advocate on behalf of patients and their families, ensuring their needs and preferences are respected.

Practice within ethical and legal nursing standards.

Comply with all hospital policies, department regulations, and applicable laws.

Deliver exceptional care through Relationship-Based Care principles, promoting safety, effective communication, and partnership with patients and families.

Experience

No prior experience required.
Licenses

Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado or a valid license from a compact state.
Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Computer Skills

Must possess, or be able to acquire within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online training, access forms and policies, enroll in benefits, and complete other job-related digital tasks.
Language

Proficiency in English is required, including reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Education

Graduation within the past year from an accredited nursing program with either a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate Degree in Nursing.
