Healthcare Staffing Professionals is seeking compassionate and experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our hospital-based team in Decatur, GA. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive behavioral health nursing duties under supervision.

  • Complete vital sign screenings, urgent care assessments, and initial patient nursing assessments within 2 hours of arrival.

  • Conduct routine physical exams and administer injections/medications per physician’s orders.

  • Monitor and document patient vitals, medical records, and nursing encounters.

  • Provide emergency treatment and medication in accordance with protocols.

  • Safely manage aggressive behaviors using approved techniques.

  • Coordinate with hospitals, mental health providers, and community partners for patient care and transfers.

  • Participate in treatment planning, discharge preparation, and cross-functional team collaboration.

  • Respond to hospital codes and assist in disaster/emergency preparedness activities.

  • Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and hospital standards.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current, active RN license in Georgia (or Nurse Licensure Compact state).

  • Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience required.

  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs, push/pull, and stand for long periods.

  • Experience in mental health, acute care, or co-occurring mental health settings.

  • Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.


Competencies:

  • Skilled in assessments, screenings (TB, HIV, Hepatitis C, pregnancy tests), and reading results.

  • Administer and transcribe medications accurately.

  • Provide patient education on health topics.

  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies effectively.

  • Evaluate nursing care plans and escalate concerns when needed.
