Job Summary
MyMichigan Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to adult patients. This role focuses on direct patient care, teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration while maintaining the highest standards of professional nursing.
The RN will be responsible for ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in compliance with hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care (40%) – Assess patient needs, administer skilled nursing services, and implement care plans as prescribed by physicians.

Clinical Support (30%) – Administer medications and treatments, respond to call lights/alarms, assist with transfers, and provide patient/family education.

Care Evaluation (20%) – Regularly review and update treatment plans, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and make recommendations for improved outcomes.

Compliance & Safety (10%) – Adhere to all Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, and Michigan regulatory standards while maintaining a safe environment.

Educate, mentor, and precept new staff, nursing students, and team members.

Actively participate in interdisciplinary patient care and infection prevention protocols.

Document bio-psychosocial nursing care accurately and timely.
Required Qualifications

Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)

License: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan

Certifications:
-
Basic Life Support (BLS – AHA), within 1 month of hire

Telemetry Competency (within 12 months of hire)

Fingerprinting clearance

TEAM Advanced (Techniques for Effective Aggression Management), within 6 months of hire

Experience: RN experience preferred; med/surg or telemetry exposure a plus

Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, critical thinking, infection prevention knowledge, and ability to work in high-stress environments
Training & Orientation

Completion of 4South Unit orientation within 90 days of hire

System Med/Surg Pathway (including Cardiac Care, Bariatric Care, Surgical Care, Dysphagia training, FIM training, and Transfer training) within required timelines
Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to move freely within the facility and perform all essential job functions

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs. occasionally; 20 lbs. frequently)

Exposure to stressful/emotional situations, bloodborne pathogens, and infectious materials

Requires strong dexterity, vision, hearing, and ability to remain alert
