Job Description
The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing patients and developing tailored occupational therapy programs for inpatients and/or outpatients with various diagnoses. Using clinical judgment, comprehensive evaluations, and psychological sensitivity, this role involves planning and implementing effective treatment strategies. In addition, the therapist provides patient education, consultation, and discharge planning. They also supervise and delegate care tasks to Certified Occupational Therapists Assistants, Rehab Technicians, and Occupational Therapy students. Moreover, the Occupational Therapist plays a key role in expanding Occupational Therapy Services by helping to create new programs and contributing to outcomes and research initiatives, while also serving as a clinical and operational resource for the team.
Minimum Education
- Required: Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
Minimum Experience
- Required: 3-5 years of relevant, job-related experience
Licensure/Certifications Required
- Illinois Licensed/Registered Occupational Therapist
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
