Position Overview
The Reimbursement Specialist I ensures accurate claims submission and manufacturer copay reimbursement processing while supporting patients with billing concerns. Reporting to the Associate Manager, Team Lead, and pharmacists, this role requires attention to billing accuracy, documentation, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor claims activity for accuracy and successful processing.

Set up and validate patient billing information in pharmacy systems.

Resolve claim issues in collaboration with internal teams.

Document insurance, prescriptions, and reimbursement details in patient profiles.

Communicate with patients about billing options when needed.

Maintain reference materials on reimbursement and copay programs.

Support compliance by adhering to legal and ethical standards.

Participate in team meetings and conferences as required.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred.

CPhT certification preferred.

Pharmacy technician license or trainee license strongly preferred (where state law requires).

Experience in pharmacy, health plan, or insurance claims billing preferred.

Strong communication, teamwork, and compliance-focused mindset.
