Overview:
Guidehouse is seeking a Multispecialty Surgery Coder II to accurately code surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including Trauma, Urology, ENT, Plastics, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Cardiovascular, and Interventional Radiology. This role involves applying ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for coding, billing, reporting, research, and regulatory compliance. The position is full-time and remote.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform high-quality surgical and E/M coding on assigned charts.

Maintain working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, coding guidelines, and governmental regulations.

Ensure accurate coding of all documented services; seek clarification for incomplete documentation.

Maintain 97% coding accuracy while meeting productivity standards.

Process review queues daily, correct re-bills, and communicate with facilities as needed.

Respond to physician/hospital coding or billing questions within 8 hours.

Maintain professional credentials and HIPAA-compliant workstations.

Collaborate with coding and billing teams to maximize efficiency and reimbursement.

Follow coding policies, division procedures, and maintain professional communication.
Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED.

Professional coding certification: CPC, RHIT, RHIA, or CCS.

EMR experience.

Completion of applicable medical or hospital training course.

Ability to maintain credentials throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications:

E/M coding certification: CEMC or CEMA.

Experience with federal and state coding regulations, DHA or Military Health coding.

Single-path coding experience.

Experience with multiple EMR or practice management systems.

Ability to work independently and interface effectively with all levels of personnel.
