In this role, the Medical Director will:

Lead medical management, utilization review, and quality improvement programs.

Perform reviews of complex, experimental, or controversial medical services to ensure fair, evidence-based decisions.

Support provider education and quality initiatives to reduce variation in clinical practice.

Collaborate with care teams, providers, and appeals staff to resolve challenging medical cases.

Conduct regular rounds with high-risk patients to coordinate and optimize care.

Contribute to policy development, goal-setting, and performance improvement planning.

Represent Centene in state committees, corporate forums, and public engagements.
Qualifications for a Medical Director
To succeed as a Medical Director, candidates must have:

MD or DO with an active Indiana medical license (no restrictions).

Board certification through the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

Hands-on clinical practice experience.

Familiarity with utilization management, quality standards, and accreditation requirements.
Preferred qualifications:

Background in Health Administration, Insurance, or Health Financing.

Experience treating or managing culturally diverse populations.
