Key Responsibilities of a Scheduling Specialist
As a Scheduling Specialist, you’ll be responsible for maintaining efficient, accurate, and compliant clinician schedules to support seamless hospital operations.
- Develop and update hospital schedules based on workload demands using scheduling software.
- Communicate with clinicians via phone, text, and email to manage call-offs, open shifts, and emergency scheduling.
- Support Medical Directors with orientation, onboarding, and shadowing arrangements for new clinicians.
- Verify clinician credentials and readiness for work assignments.
- Track and report clinician hours to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Maintain and update staffing and recruitment reports to support data-driven scheduling.
- Collaborate with recruiting, credentialing, and enrollment teams to ensure seamless scheduling operations.
- Provide assistance to directors and facility leadership with flexible scheduling needs.

Qualifications for a Scheduling Specialist
