Key Residential Energy Auditor Responsibilities
As a Residential Energy Auditor, your work will include:

Performing on-site residential audits for HVAC, insulation, windows, lighting, appliances, and overall building performance.

Using tools like blower doors, infrared cameras, and combustion analyzers to identify energy-saving opportunities.

Reviewing homeowner utility data and inputting findings into audit software (SnuggPro experience is a plus).

Educating residents on rebates, incentives, and best energy-saving practices.

Inspecting post-installation work to ensure compliance and quality.

Partnering with contractors, utilities, and program managers to improve results.

Maintaining accurate records and ensuring program compliance.
Residential Energy Auditor Qualifications
To succeed as a Residential Energy Auditor, candidates must have:

Residence in Arizona.

High school diploma (Associate/Bachelor’s degree in energy, construction, or environmental science preferred).

Current BPI Building Analyst Certification (BPI BA) – required.

2+ years of experience in energy auditing, quality assurance, or related fields.

Strong knowledge of building science and residential construction.

Ability to travel 25%–75% within Arizona (limited overnight travel).

US Citizenship (required).

Preferred: HERS/RESNET Rater certification, bilingual Spanish skills, and experience with SnuggPro.
