Position Summary:

We are looking for a knowledgeable, customer-oriented Retail Pharmacist to join our team in a dynamic pharmacy setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a dedication to patient safety, and a commitment to providing outstanding pharmaceutical care. You’ll play a vital role in dispensing medications, offering expert advice, and supporting community wellness.


Key Responsibilities:

Prescription Management

  • Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with healthcare provider instructions and applicable regulations.

  • Ensure all prescriptions comply with federal and state laws regarding controlled substances and safety standards.

Patient Counseling

  • Provide comprehensive counseling to patients, including dosage instructions, possible side effects, interactions, and proper medication storage.

  • Promote adherence and answer any questions related to medications or over-the-counter products.

Customer Service & OTC Support

  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate over-the-counter products and provide advice on common health concerns and preventive care.

  • Ensure each customer receives friendly, professional, and informative service.

Clinical & Wellness Services

  • Administer immunizations, conduct health screenings, and offer wellness consultations in accordance with state regulations and pharmacy protocols.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain adequate stock levels of prescription and OTC medications.

  • Oversee the proper storage, labeling, and organization of pharmaceuticals.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure effective medication therapy management.

  • Mentor and support pharmacy technicians and staff to ensure accurate workflow and excellent service delivery.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintain strict adherence to pharmacy laws, HIPAA requirements, and quality assurance standards.

  • Document all interactions and services as required by internal and external policies.

Professional Development

  • Stay current with the latest pharmaceutical advancements, FDA updates, and new drug therapies.

  • Participate in ongoing training and continuing education as required.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited institution.

  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of California.

  • Experience: Retail pharmacy experience preferred, but highly motivated candidates without experience will also be considered.

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and automated dispensing tools is preferred.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Exposure to medications and pharmaceutical chemicals in a well-controlled environment
