The Revenue Cycle Manager plays a critical role in leading the revenue cycle team, managing payer relationships, and overseeing the entire billing and accounts receivable lifecycle. This leader ensures profitability, compliance, and efficiency while building a culture of excellence and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy

Lead, mentor, and develop the revenue cycle team for optimal performance.

Manage payer relationships to maximize results for partner practices.

Conduct trend analysis to identify process improvement opportunities.

Educate practice leaders and staff on financial performance metrics.

Deliver weekly status updates and present KPI findings to executives.
Revenue Cycle Operations

Oversee day-to-day revenue cycle workflows, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

Monitor aged accounts, insurance denials, and payer trends to optimize collections.

Implement payer edits/rules to reduce denials and increase clean claim rates.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Market Accounting, Practice Performance Partners) to resolve billing and reporting issues.

Partner with vendors to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.

Manage quality audits to ensure claims accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Performance & Compliance

Track, analyze, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs).
-
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer regulations, compliance standards, and revenue cycle best practices.

Drive cash flow improvements by addressing payer denials, documentation errors, and registration issues.

Ensure profitability goals are met or exceeded.
Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of healthcare revenue cycle management experience required.

Bachelor’s degree preferred; certified coder a plus.

Strong expertise in payer denials, claim edits, and insurance complexities (government & commercial).

Knowledge of Athena Collector preferred.

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; ability to present to executive leadership.

Proven success in leading cross-functional collaboration and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
