This position is remote for candidates residing in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Overnight travel is required approximately 30–50% of the time.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct on-site risk control surveys for complex and specialized policyholder operations, including niche markets.

Analyze exposure potential, evaluate existing safety controls, and prepare detailed risk control reports for clients and agents.

Provide consultative guidance to policyholders on operations, claims trends, and strategies to reduce exposure to insured losses.

Develop written safety and risk management recommendations tailored to each client’s business.

Serve as a subject-matter expert in assigned technical focus areas and mentor other members of the Risk Control team.

Collaborate with colleagues across departments—Underwriting, Sales, and Claims—to share insights and enhance renewal decision-making.

Represent Risk Control functions in agency visits, presentations, and association meetings to promote EMC’s value and expertise.

Deliver advanced training and loss control services for large or high-risk accounts.

Conduct hazard control, ergonomic, and slip-fall assessments to address key loss drivers.

Build and maintain strong relationships with policyholders and agents through responsive communication and proactive service.
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Safety, Fire Protection, or a related field; equivalent professional experience accepted.

Minimum of five years of experience in risk control, occupational safety, or a related discipline.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar credentials preferred.
Skills & Qualifications

Strong knowledge of industrial, construction, fire, and automotive safety practices.

Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, NFPA, and other national safety standards and codes.

Proven ability to assess and quantify risk exposures across varied environments.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills—both written and verbal.

Skilled in Microsoft Office and general data documentation.

Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work independently and within a team.

Capable of multitasking and prioritizing to meet deadlines.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; regular travel expected.
Compensation
The hiring salary range for this position varies by location and typically falls between $90,635–$124,914 or $99,924–$137,714, depending on experience, education, skills, and geographic factors.
