Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse Assistant Manager to join our ICU team at a leading hospital in Chicago. This full-time leadership role is ideal for a clinically skilled RN who thrives in fast-paced critical care environments and is ready to step into a role that blends direct patient care with team supervision and operational oversight.


Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide hands-on clinical support and guidance to ICU nursing staff

  • Participate in direct patient care, including assessment, care planning, and evaluation

  • Promote and enforce adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and evidence-based practices

Administrative Support

  • Assist with staff scheduling, shift coverage, and budget tracking

  • Help manage daily ICU operations to ensure efficient workflow and resource utilization

  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives within the unit

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as a liaison between nurses, physicians, and hospital leadership

  • Partner with the Nurse Manager to identify challenges and implement effective solutions

  • Act as a primary contact for staff, patients, and families during assigned shifts


Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois RN License (required)

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN required); Master of Science in Nursing (MSN preferred)

  • 3–5 years of ICU or critical care nursing experience

  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment while maintaining patient-centered focus
