Centrepoint is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Rough Sleeper Support Worker to join our Prevention team in Manchester. As a Rough Sleeper Support Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting young people experiencing homelessness or at high risk of sleeping rough. Key Responsibilities of a Rough Sleeper Support Worker

As a Rough Sleeper Support Worker, your main duties will include:

  • Assisting young people to secure housing benefits and manage rent payments

  • Helping them settle into properties and access mental health, education, and employment services

  • Acting as the key link between Centrepoint’s property management and support teams

  • Supporting young people with benefit applications and crisis intervention

  • Maintaining accurate records and collaborating with partner services

 Skills and Qualities Needed for a Rough Sleeper Support Worker

To excel as a Rough Sleeper Support Worker, you’ll need:

  • Experience supporting vulnerable or homeless young people

  • A calm, empathetic, and understanding approach

  • Knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, and safeguarding policies

  • Strong decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills

  • IT literacy and an eye for detail when recording client data
