Centrepoint is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Rough Sleeper Support Worker to join our Prevention team in Manchester. As a Rough Sleeper Support Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting young people experiencing homelessness or at high risk of sleeping rough. This permanent, full-time role requires a calm, empathetic communicator who can offer housing advice, emotional support, and access to essential services. Key Responsibilities of a Rough Sleeper Support Worker
As a Rough Sleeper Support Worker, your main duties will include:

Assisting young people to secure housing benefits and manage rent payments

Helping them settle into properties and access mental health, education, and employment services

Acting as the key link between Centrepoint’s property management and support teams

Supporting young people with benefit applications and crisis intervention

Maintaining accurate records and collaborating with partner services
Skills and Qualities Needed for a Rough Sleeper Support Worker
To excel as a Rough Sleeper Support Worker, you’ll need:

Experience supporting vulnerable or homeless young people

A calm, empathetic, and understanding approach

Knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, and safeguarding policies

Strong decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills

IT literacy and an eye for detail when recording client data
