Role Overview
Ikerian AG is seeking a Rust Engineer passionate about data interoperability to build robust, scalable, and high-performance systems. You’ll work on medical device software solutions, ensuring seamless integration of complex healthcare data while maintaining high code quality.
Key Responsibilities

Write clean, maintainable, testable Rust code in a production environment

Collaborate with the team to share knowledge and build high-quality software

Establish best practices for development, testing, and deployment

Mentor junior engineers and help them grow their skills

Design and build scalable solutions leveraging RESTful APIs and web services
Requirements
-
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Vision, or relevant field, or equivalent experience

1–2 years of Rust experience AND 5 years of experience with data interoperability/image processing

Familiarity with medical data standards (DICOM, FHIR)

Good foundation in image processing, compression, and data serialization

Experience with version control systems (Git)

Strong problem-solving, debugging, and testing skills

Excellent English communication skills (verbal & written)

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Entrepreneurial and team-oriented mindset

Available to work CET business hours
Desirable Skills (Optional)

Python programming experience

Familiarity with web frameworks like Axum and web APIs (REST, RESTful, GraphQL)

Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, TLS, DNS)

Exposure to computer vision techniques (traditional or ML-based)
