At The Red Gecko, we’ve been designing, importing, and retailing unique jewellery, art, and homewares from Bali since 2004. With boutique-style stores in Brighton and the Lake District, we are known for our vibrant products, eclectic style, and exceptional customer service. Our team is small but mighty — and we’re looking for someone who brings heart, creativity, and flair to everything they do.
About the Role
This is a sole-charge position ideal for a confident, self-motivated individual who enjoys working independently in a customer-facing environment. You’ll be running either our Bowness or Grasmere store, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while offering a warm, personalised shopping experience to every customer.
Key Responsibilities

Solely manage the daily operations of the store (either Bowness or Grasmere)

Deliver exceptional customer service with a friendly, upbeat attitude

Manage stock levels, merchandising, and seasonal sales promotions

Use the Shopify POS system confidently

Receive and manage large/heavy stock deliveries

Help maintain and enhance our quirky in-store aesthetics (repainting, DIY displays, etc.)
What We’re Looking For

Creative flair – interest in art, interiors, fashion, or textiles preferred

Outgoing personality – confident with solo working and engaging customers

Previous experience in customer-facing roles (retail not essential)

Hands-on attitude – able to lift stock and help with physical tasks

Adaptable and self-driven – ready to support various business needs

Schedule

7-hour shifts: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
