Responsibilities:
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, prospects, and industry leaders.
- Contribute to the business development strategy for Morningstar Sustainalytics in the Americas region.
- Assist underwriters in structuring sustainable financing transactions using Sustainalytics’ opinions.
- Support underwriters in advising clients on sustainable finance taxonomies and their interpretation.
- Guide intermediaries in identifying new opportunities within sustainable investment themes.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to integrate new market developments into existing offerings.
- Maintain expertise in Green, Social, and Sustainable Bond Principles (ICMA), including guidelines for Loans, Securitizations, and Deposits.
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and cross-selling within Morningstar.
- Drive sales growth by:
- Managing a book of business and successfully closing commercial opportunities.
- Staying informed on market developments and product innovation trends.
- Representing Morningstar at industry events, conferences, and speaking engagements.
- Collaborating with teams across the US, Canada, EMEA, and APAC.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is an ambitious, team-oriented professional who thrives in a consultative sales environment. A deep understanding of the Morningstar organization and a passion for sustainability are essential for success in this role.
- Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven track record of exceeding sales targets in a competitive financial services environment.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to respond quickly to customer needs.
- Experience in finance, ESG/sustainability research is highly desirable.
- Established network within the industry and experience in selling financial products.
- Recognized financial qualifications with an understanding of financial products leveraging Morningstar’s ratings.
- Background in business, finance, environmental or social sciences.
- Strong skills in client servicing, consultative sales, and business development.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, well-organized, and a high level of integrity.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
- Desire to work closely with an international and diverse team.
