About the Role
As a key member of the Regional Leadership Team, the Sales Manager for the Fargo-Moorhead Ready Mix Concrete and Aggregates division is responsible for developing and executing the market sales strategy while leading, managing, and mentoring a high-performing sales team. This role drives business growth through strategic planning, customer relationship development, and team leadership, all while aligning with Holcim’s sustainability and innovation goals.

The Sales Manager oversees sales performance, ensures profitability, supports customer service excellence, and maintains operational efficiency in administrative functions. In collaboration with regional peers, this role also contributes to achieving the broader safety, financial, and business development objectives of the North Central Region.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the General Manager to craft and implement market-specific strategies.

  • Translate business strategies into actionable account and call plans.

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, identifying opportunities to expand business and improve customer satisfaction.

  • Negotiate effectively, close sales, and ensure timely collections and minimal outstanding balances.

  • Partner with Business Operations teams to align on sales targets and optimize performance.

  • Balance volume and pricing to maximize margins.

  • Lead and support the development of field sales personnel, including goal-setting, performance management, and coaching.

  • Drive the adoption of efficient sales processes and embrace continuous improvement.

  • Act as a change agent, challenging the status quo and promoting innovation.

  • Represent Holcim in engagements with local and state regulatory bodies and legislative agencies.

  • Forecast demand to support transportation and supply chain planning.

  • Uphold and promote health, safety, and environmental policies across all areas of work.


What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in concrete, aggregates, or construction (minimum 5 years).

  • Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Business, Concrete Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience: 5–10 years of commercial experience in business development, sales, or marketing within construction materials (e.g., ready-mix concrete, aggregates, paving).

  • Certifications: Sandler Sales Training certification is preferred.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    • Experience with SAP, Salesforce, and QlikView/QlikSense

  • Additional Requirements:

    • Commitment to safety protocols and proper use of PPE, including respirator compliance where applicable.
