Position Overview
The Sample Librarian plays a key role in maintaining showroom organization and delivering excellent client service. You will be responsible for filling and maintaining memo samples, overseeing textile displays, managing inventory, and ensuring clients’ requests are fulfilled promptly. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong communication skills, multitasking, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities

Fulfill sample requests and order missing samples for clients.

Maintain sample room inventory and keep levels current.

Organize and merchandise fabrics, update displays, and remove discontinued items.

Maintain and update textile price lists.

Ensure the showroom floor is stocked with supplies (bags, pencils, memo pads, marketing materials).

Assist clients and sales associates with pricing, product identification, and sample requests in person and over the phone.

Support outside sales associates with tear sheets, memo samples, and related materials.

Manage tear sheet library, marketing tools, and showroom appearance.

Handle showroom shipping and receiving tasks.

Order office supplies when needed.

Answer telephones and greet every client with professionalism.

Be a collaborative and proactive team player.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

1–2 years of experience in retail, showroom, or design environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong multitasking and communication skills (written and verbal).

Ability to lift 20–50 lbs. as required.
