Community Health Systems (CHS) is seeking a Scheduling Specialist I to support our SSC Sarasota team. This role is essential in creating and maintaining accurate clinician schedules, filling open shifts, and tracking hours for payroll processing. You’ll collaborate with clinicians, leadership, and support teams to ensure smooth operations across our hospital facilities in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and distribute hospital schedules based on workload demands.

Communicate with clinicians via phone, text, and email regarding schedule changes, call-offs, and emergency openings.

Support Medical Directors and site-specific scheduling needs, including orientation and shadowing arrangements for new providers.

Verify clinician credentials and enrollment to ensure readiness for facility assignments.

Track clinician hours, prepare reports, and coordinate with payroll for timely and accurate processing.

Update recruitment and staffing reports (e.g., “Have vs. Needs”) for real-time staffing visibility.

Monitor performance metrics and assist management with staffing and scheduling reports.

Collaborate with credentialing, recruiting, and enrollment teams for seamless scheduling operations.

Provide flexible support to Directors, VPs, and facilities as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
Qualifications
Required:

High school diploma or GED.

1–3 years of experience in scheduling, operations, or healthcare administration.
Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.

1–3 years of experience scheduling physicians, advanced practice providers, or relevant healthcare personnel (e.g., surgical or patient scheduling).
