About the Role

An Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in the heart of Greenwich is seeking a reliable, professional, and experienced School Administrator to join its friendly and dedicated administration team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and organised individual with strong SIMS experience to play a key role in ensuring the day-to-day operations of the school run smoothly. You will be working closely with the wider administration team and reporting directly to the Office Manager and School Business Manager.

Key Responsibilities

As a School Administrator, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • SIMS Data Management: Accurately maintaining and updating pupil records, attendance, and contact information using SIMS (Schools Information Management System)

  • General Office Support: Handling telephone calls, emails, and front-desk queries in a professional and courteous manner

  • Microsoft Office Tasks: Creating and formatting documents using Word, managing spreadsheets using Excel, and supporting general administrative tasks

  • Stock & Supplies: Monitoring and ordering school supplies and managing inventory records

  • Team Collaboration: Working effectively with the admin team and supporting the needs of the teaching staff

  • Ad Hoc Duties: Any additional tasks as directed by the Office Manager or School Business Manager

This role is key to supporting the daily functions of a busy school office and would suit someone who enjoys multitasking and thrives in an education-based setting.

Person Specification

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a UK school office (essential)

  • Excellent working knowledge of SIMS (essential)

  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • High level of organisational ability and attention to detail

  • Calm, friendly, and professional communication style

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing priorities

  • Must be immediately available and able to commit to full-time hours during term-time
